I'm Tom — a photographer and developer based in the UK. I built LightScout because I wanted a tool that combined location scouting, golden hour timing, weather conditions, and AI-powered composition tips into a single, fast experience.
Whether you're travelling with just your iPhone or carrying a full camera kit, LightScout adapts its recommendations to your gear and skill level. Every guide is generated by AI, refined with real photography knowledge, and designed to get you to the right spot at the right time.
More Than Just an App
Alongside the iOS app, we publish free photography location guides for 40+ destinations worldwide. Each guide includes the best photo spots, golden hour timing tables, camera settings, pro tips, and FAQs — all written for photographers, by photographers.
The app itself uses AI to generate personalised scouting reports for any location in seconds. It works with any camera — phone, DSLR, mirrorless, compact, or drone — and adjusts tips to your experience level.
